Blythe Brown, CCISD Gifted and Talented Specialist and Math Coach at Ed White ESTEM Magnet School, earned the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented Innovation in Gifted Award.
Ms. Brown had a genius idea to give students the opportunity and time to innovate, create and share their talents with the school and larger community.
Genius Hour at Ed White ESTEM became a wild success. It is an inclusive research- driven challenge class for 3rd through 5th graders. Students have the opportunity to self-select their topic and each child designs a product.
The work earned Blythe Brown the 2015 Texas Associated for the Gifted and Talented Innovation in Gifted Award. She received a $5,000 award to continue her work and she was recognized during the TAGT conference
