The Clear Creek Independent School District, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Department, and area police departments will conduct joint training exercises throughout the summer.

“This summer we are increasing the amount of training and drills in Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training or also known as ALERRT,” said Captain Josette Rivas, Galveston County School Liaison Division Captain. “This extensive training will allow officers, CCISD staff, and area law enforcement agencies to work together in our schools throughout the summer and in the end, create a cohesive emergency response team in the event of a school crisis.” ALERRT ™ is a nationally-recognized research-based active shooter response training.

These simulations are all drills, and the public should not be alarmed if they see police activity around and inside the following CCISD schools from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. While the training is isolated to these campuses, all school liaison division officers who support Clear Creek ISD will participate in the trainings.
