Recognitions

Students from Ferguson Elementary led the meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge.

The artwork by Jeffrey Lim and Dominic Nguyen were selected to be displayed in the offices of the Congressman Randy Weber and Congressman Brian Babin.

Seventeen CCISD students were recognized for earning top honors at the Visual Arts Education Event (VASE) state competition.

The CCISD Robonauts won 2nd place at the “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology” 2017 World Championship and first place at the Texas competition for the second year in a row.

Isabel Hu of Clear Creek High School earned first place in the Letters About Literature state writing competition. 

Izyan Maredia from Ed White E-STEM Elementary school earned first place in the Scholastic Robots of the Future contest.

Nicholas Glaze of Clear Lake High School earned a perfect score on the ACT.

Board Items of Interest

Chris Reed and Arturo Sanchez were both sworn in in their respective seats on the Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustees.

The board unanimously approved a new slate of board officers with Page Rander as president, Dr. Laura DuPont as vice president and Jay Cunningham as secretary.

The consent agenda was approved.

Jeffrey Mathis was named assistant principal for Bay Elementary. Erin Schmidt and Jamie Brownson were both named assistant principals for secondary education and school assignments will be announced at a later date.
